Day 3 – Your idea of the perfect first date.

Good question. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

J’s and my first date was nothing like a “first date” because neither of us asked the other to go on an actual date. I was out and about with my girlfriends cruising town and acting goofy. He had just got off work and was in town with his friends driving around trying to find something to do for the night. He hadn’t even been home to shower yet. lol.

A bunch of us were stopped on a parking lot (small town fun ftw!) when J walked up and leaned against my car. I knew who he was and of course thought he was crazy cute … so I bounced right over and started flirting with him. I was all … “Look what I found on my car … do I get to keep him?”

My car was blocked in, so I faked a “NEED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM ASAP” situation just so he’d offer to drive me to find a bathroom. Of course, he fell for it (thank goodness) .. so I tossed my keys to my girlfriend and we were out of there.

We drove around the rest of the night, did a little gravel road cruising and I actually ended up staying the night at his friend’s house with him that night. (Shush…I was a wild child back then.)

End of story. We’ve been together ever since. Zero to married in 9.27 seconds. What can I say.. When you know, you KNOW!!!!

While that may not be a good example of the “perfect first date,” it WAS the perfect first date to me … because it led me to where I am today in my life. Happy and in love with that same crazy teenager.
