harper && tyler = a mom && her son both very happy in different states
2011
at the beginning of this year, i made a goal for myself that i was going to read at least one book a week for the entire year. the point was to actually “average” a book a week, cause lord knows there are some weeks where all i read is the back of my shampoo bottles … and others where i’ll devour 3 books in 3 days. after taking a couple of weeks off at the beginning of march, i jumped back on the wagon and read these four books quick, fast and in a hurry.
Harper Connelly has what you might call a strange job: she finds dead people. She can sense the final location of a person who’s passed, and share their very last moment. The way Harper sees it, she’s providing a service to the dead while bringing some closure to the living-but she’s used to most people treating her like a blood-sucking leech. Traveling with her step-brother Tolliver as manager and sometime-bodyguard, she’s become an expert at getting in, getting paid, and getting out fast. Because for the living it’s always urgent-even if the dead can wait forever.
this is another series by charlaine harris, the author who gave me my own personal form of crack called TRUE BLOOD. while i’m waiting on book 11 to come out in may (or is it june?) i decided that maybe these books would give me enough of a “fix” to tide me over until then.
boy was i right.
i love love loved this series.
as much or maybe even a little more than my sookie series.
*what?*
i know.
anyway. highly recommended. especially if you’re a big sookie fan like i am.
ohh and while i was googling to find that little blurb up there describing the book (which i guess i need to make clear that i didn’t write and i’m not quite sure who did) … i found a website that said that CBS is making a series based on these books that will be called “grave sight” … same as the first book. has anyone else heard anything about that ??? cause i sure hope it’s true. i need faces to go with the names harper && tolliver.
